Choreographer needed for "Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and an original musical "Little Red and Goldilock's amazing adventure" as well as our Triple Threat troupe. This position starts at the end of January 2010. Ideally looking for someone young, a college student or senior High school student looking for experience and the opportunity to work with a great group of children ages 4-16! Must be available on Mondays and Fridays between 4-9pm. Will need to choreograph and teach dances to children of varying ages and experience. Singing ability is a plus!

There will be a stipend for this position.

Energetic & enthusiastic Costumer with a passion for Fantasy & Sci-Fi design is needed immediately for three original productions:

"The Little Mermaid & the Yellow Submarine"
"The Monkey King: Bollywood SuperStar", and
"A Princess of Stars"(AKA: "Sleeping Beauty in Space").

Must be willing to work patiently with teenage and preteen actors. Must have solid grasp of bold color pallette, 1960's to 2000's pop culture, martial arts wear, mythology, and international/historical/cinematic design concepts. This is a paid position, but please do not respond if you cannot deliver quality work under pressure and, more importantly, are not genuinely intrigued by the challenges of costuming the listed productions with creativity, grace, and pride. Theatre Arts Majors are preferred, but will consider any serious inquiries. Please respond today.

Position Summary:  The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in design and the specific teaching assignment may include theatre courses such as Beginning Stagecraft, Stage Lighting, or Costume Construction. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitments. Assignments include days, evenings and weekends, and will include weekly production meetings.

As set designer, the faculty member also serves as the technical director and, with student crews, will oversee construction of the show set.

As costume designer, the faculty member also serves as costume shop foreperson, and will execute, with student crews, the construction of costumes for the show.

As lighting designer, the faculty member also serves as the master electrician, and with student crews, will hang and focus the show.

Additional Position Summary:
Responsibilities: The faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching technical theatre classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; maintaining thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.

Additional Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Have a master's degree in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor's in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, speech, literature, or humanities OR the equivalent* OR hold a California Community College Instructor's Credential in the discipline area.

* Note: Applicants appling under the "equivalent" provision must attach details and explain how their academic preparation is equivalent of the degree listed above.

Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

(Degrees and applicable college coursework must be from an accredited institution.)
